The playtest of this game showed that there are some issues with wrapping.  I think in the end the wrapping mechanic is necessary, because the game will last way too long otherwise.  Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be very many choice opportunities in this game, but that’s OK for such a simple game.  I’ll be figuring out some more opportunities, but for now it’s a decently self-contained, simple board game.

  1. Kyle,

Your paths game was quite interesting, and your use of playing cards to determine movement is a great solution. I think it shows promise and further iterations will only serve to polish the game further. I recommend retesting it with modified rules. How simple or complex did your players feel the game was? How much of the board did they use?

You should also remember to write your rules down in a clearer format for presentation on your blog. While most of your rules seem to be in your paragraph, you should divide them up into a more readable format, say with numbers and lists. That way, it will be easier for your players to tell how to play the game.

Thank you. The board needs to be reworked, but that can be done rather simply and quickly so that’s not much of a big deal. As far as the format for the rules post, yes, you’re right. I posted that particular post in a rush. I had to do something or other and only had enough time to post what I did. I have been considering reposting it in a more readable format.

Thank you for your input! I plan on revising this game again as part of the class, so be watching for the changes.
